Drawing and Painting
I love to draw and paint. Sometimes I work with still objects like fruits or flowers. Other times I draw or paint images of people and animals. Several years ago I did a series of drawings of my Wheaton Terrier, Willy. I framed one of those drawings and hung it on the wall in my kitchen. Willy passed away a few years ago, but I remember that sweet dog every time I see that drawing.
My favorite way of doing art is to draw and paint out-of-doors. I’ve painted scenes in many countries – Italy, Mexico, England, Ireland, and of course the United States. I also enjoy drawing musicians while they play or sing. This kind of drawing is very challenging because the musicians are moving. I try to draw to the music. The drawing of a rock musician has lots of short, jagged lines. A drawing of a violinist playing a slow classical piece is made with long, slow lines. Recently I’ve been doing drawings of my baby granddaughter. She is another model who is always moving!
